All the teachers in the district held their breath yesterday as the forecast was being prepared. Yes! there would be a snow day. As you hear the hiss and the joy in the teachers exclamation there is a underlying sound. What is it. It is barely audible under the sounds from the children joining with the teachers. Maybe it is from those that have spent two precious weeks with the wonderful children enjoying the smiles and new memories that were made. Maybe it is from those that enjoyed the hours of loving time spent with the children. Maybe those that love the children with all their heart like to see them leave to school just so they can say I missed you and am glad you are here. Maybe if the children would just go away for a day then the time spent with them would be more precious and desirable. Maybe, but no, today is different, not only are the children home but they are also stuck inside (or outside complaining about freezing). They require a tad more attention. But who can resist the fun and the memories built on something as special as a Snow Day with Mom.
PS. Shoveling snow for two hours counts for my 1/2 hour on the treadmill. Right?
