Oh, Darn it!
This post was supposed to say
"First Day of School"
Then it was going to say
"First Day of the second week of school"
Then today it was going to say
"First Day of the third week of school"
Well I have yet to remember and take the famous pictures everyone takes. I guess I am unconventional already right. Oh well. The boys are loving being back. By loving I mean waking up early enough to get a chore in before school. Keaton is having alot of new experiences this year. He is in 4th grade, now he can play a string instrument and have ELP and go to the older playground. He has even been doing his homework. Sam is in 1st grade. I guess with him just the fact that he is excited to go everyday is enough. Sam is my one so far that isn't too into change. Until it isn't new anymore he is a little skeptical. The first two days was all it took. They were good enough last week that on Friday they got to watch a movie. (I think it was a PBS show on DVD) He called it a Super Fun Day. Nellie has noticed that her brothers go away. We need to start a play group or something. She is very fun and it is nice to have the one on one time again. Well Happy New School Year!

He's the man
I sure do love this man. I would follow him anywhere (I truly wanted to go). He has been such a great guy to be married to. He is a hard worker. He has a great artistic eye. He is always thinking of wonderful things (trait passed to Keaton). He loves his children and wife. He worries more than I think he should, but I guess it is better for someone to worry sometime rather than no one. He cares. He shares. His musical ability is astounding and so is his compassion for others. He is always willing to open his mind to others ideas and loves to talk about them. It is amazing that he is able to all that he sets out to do. He is finally finishing his masters degree, and sees a great future for his family. I hope he knows how much we love him and are grateful for all that he is willing to give to us each day. I love you Justin!
Fine Fisherman Fisher
Our ward scheduled the family outing for this last weekend. As soon as Keaton saw it in the bulletin and saw where it would be held (Canyon Creek) he has been talking about fishing. It has been a good 2 months. Oh my, what a persistent young fellow. From dawn to dusk he wanted to stay at the creek. It was nice and chilly in the water, however the sun beat down pretty hot at camp. It was fun to hop rocks up and down the creek trying to find the one fish. Having the parents he does he had to rely on his skills with his hands. (Packing and worrying about fishing gear was not on my list of things to tolerate.) He did borrow a net from his Pappy. All in all it payed off. The last day he was walking along and happened onto a fish that happened into his net, that happens to be in our freezer. (I think) Keaton is such a great kid. He helps and shares. He is nice and loves to think and share new ideas. It was a great couple of days on the creek. Thank you Keaton.
Ketchup Sandwich
My loving mother was willing to watch my children for a couple of hours the other day while I went to work. Such a sweet, wonderful woman who has already spent her time with children and now loves her grandchildren. Well if you do happen to drop your children off you might want to mention she should stay in the main room with them. She can comment with her side of the story but here is what I know. Nellie was naked when I got back, only the ends of the bread where out on the table with quite a bit of cinnamon and sugar about. I guess Nana decided to go to her bedroom (3 feet away from anything) and read her book (maybe slightly snooze). When she came back (to reality) Nellie had found the paint and decided to squirt it on everything and use it as finger paint. Other things must have happened before that because after we left Nana found the rest of her loaf of bread made into ketchup sandwiches and put away in the fridge. So Nana this one is for you. You get us every other weekend and for a week in the summer whether you like it or not. Love you and thanks forever for your help.
He can read
The rest of the conversation was about hard consonants and soft ones. What a smart boy, sounding out words to understand the world.
