Hamsty

I haven't been taking many pictures so I must apologize. However when I found the camera these are some of the pictures on it. I love Keaton's imagination.

Teeth

Samson's school really pushes for oral health. They even brush thier teeth every day after lunch. Good thing because big brother Keaton had some dental work (a filling on a cavity). Now we all want good teeth. Nellie just says, "Monkey see, Monkey do"

Light Parade

Where are the lights? Our camera ran out of batteries. Here we are trying to stay warm. Others around up brought thier coffee. We brought children. Not the same.

A Christmas Poll...

I'd love to hear your answers, too. Email me or post them in the comments or on your own blog!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot Chocolate

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
Wraps them up in his own special paper that doesn’t match all the rest of our presents. He writes our names right on the packages, and manoman does his handwriting stink! I had a friend that told me they wrapped the presents in towels. Big family, no waste.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
It depends on which strands are working and how fed up we are.

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
Everywhere and anywhere.

5. When do you put your decorations up?
Slowly the week after Thanksgiving. I realized this year that if you don't get your outside lights up then it gets to cold to do it at all.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish?
HAM

7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child?
Gumby wrapped as Gumby. Grandma's house and the home video's (we should watch them this year, or should we). Laying in bed on Christmas Eve night.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa ?
Well, when I was about 8 I finally realized that the red suit was a myth. How can he wear that in the heat in the southern hemisphere and even in Arizona. Nope, he just wears layers that he can peel off. That is the truth you're talking about, right?

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
Yup. Nana's house is the best. Even growing up and going to Grandma's. I think that it reduced our anxious feelings about what was really under the tree. This year we are having a new tradition. We want to wake up to Christmas at our own house without loosing other traditions (Nana's House and Granny's on Christmas day). So we told the kids we wrote Santa a letter and he is going to come to our house a night early. Christmas Eve morning will be our Christmas morning. Best of both worlds.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?
Bottom to top

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
LOOOOOVE IT!! This year is a neat one. Finally I get all those movies with people bundled up in the winter, patches of snow on the ground. It is fun and it feels like I am in a fictional story. Granted this is minor Arizona snow that I am talking about.

12. Can you ice skate?
Yes! But it hurts my ankles.

13. Of all the gifts you've gotten, do you have a favorite?
Not really Christmas ones. Justin, Keaton, Samson, Nellie. Cheesy I know but they are gifts most of the time good, sometimes bad.

14. What’s the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
The culmination of the year and the begining of a new one. This gives me a time to reflect on what is important and how I took advantage during the year and how to do better through the new year. This comes through reflecting on self and relationship with Christ.

15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?
I like baking so ususally what ever is on the counter or got finished.

16. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Christmas Eve at Moms. Stockings in the morning.

17. What tops your tree?
This year, our ceiling. We went to the forest to get one ourselves. Oops. Well the snowman that ususally sits on top is adorning a window sill.

18. Which do you prefer giving gifts or receiving them?
It depends on the year. Some years I am so into giving that I forget other want to give to me. Other years I know what I want and the only way to get it is to mention it at every turn.

19. What is your favorite Christmas Song?
The ones that my children sing. I love to hear thier little voices chiming in.

20. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?
The Dum Dum ones YUM. I love the regular ones sticking out of my hot cocoa for a little added affect.

21. When do you take your tree/decorations down?
It happens slowly. Usually some where around New Years. Hey that's when we do it New Years.
22. What do you do on New Year's Eve?
We used to go to Leslie's for her big bash. Other years we sit at home and watch long movies (Gone With the Wind, or My Fair Lady). This year, who knows.
