Ice Skating
Week two of the ice skating lessons. This last Thursday was only slightly less busy than the week before so the whole family got to skate. It was a great warm up for the kids and they were ready for their teachers. Big fun!
Keaton Says,
"It looks easy but it is hard. I know that I look like a Pro at skating but it complicated. It isn't cold. And it is easy to walk in the skates on land. You should try it it is fun. Love Keaton.

Veterans Day
I tried to find a newer picture. I was wondering what to blog on this fine Veteran's day. Wyatt, our good friend that married Becky and then moved into the apartments down from us then had a baby then moved before us and has moved 5 times since then and he accidentally signed up for the air force without telling Becky on their short trip to Texas a year ago making their short trip a longer one finally finishing all the training (have another baby) and getting stationed in Utah where they said he wouldn't get called up for another couple of years or so which in air force meant a couple of months, is shipping out to Belad in January. So, since technically I think he is the only one I know in the military I dedicate this blog to you. Good luck Becky! Oh you too Wyatt. We love and pray for yous guys.

Piggies? or Braid?
Trip to the Phoenix Zoo
As soon as Keaton heard that one of the 3rd grade teachers takes her kids to the Phoenix Zoo he has been so excited. They got to drive down on a bus and spend the night. Justin and Sam were some of the chaperons. While they did that I helped mom get the rest of her place painted. It was so fun for everyone that we took turns sleeping on the way home. The day was bright warm down in the valley, freezing and rainy in the mountains. What a difference.

Depression a (not so) wonderful form of rest
Paroxetine (Paxil) has many side effects. I have taken a different anti-depressant for years and since moving to Flagstaff our insurance (lucky us to have, not lucky to be restricted) would not cover it so I switched. In the last couple of weeks I have slowly weened myself off of it. Now you are all saying in your head "ahh that explains Hattie's behavior last time I was with her." Knock it off, I really don't like that judgment. Anyway, so the withdrawal symptoms are like morning sickness with a side of dizzy and a large order of "why should I do that I'll just have to do it again tomorrow." Once I figured out the dizzy and nausea was from withdrawal I thought that I could handle that. Not really, it isn't just in my head (get it). When I think of something that needs to be done, I have to do it right then or else the urge to not do it or I forget, what was I saying? So sorry about the lack of blog but it landed on the bottom of the list. Sadly or gratefully this happened during my favorite month. I guess it was good because at least I had the inner sense to be ok and pleasant because of the month. Bad because all of my Halloween energy and effort was spent before I even tried. All the decorations are still in the shed. Will I have the energy to get out Harvest stuff or am I going to skip to Christmas. Gotta go switch laundry before I forget. If I forget to come back have a happy veterans day;)

What is one more thing?
When you have too many things to do that you can't even keep the hours of the day straight, why not paint a whole bedroom. Justin and the boys went down to the valley to go to the priesthood session with Pappy. (The boys played with Granny) I have been thinking of these colors for awhile now. I am surprising Justin when he comes home. It was totally like the shows. Well not really. I was the only one there and doing in on my own. I had to do the paint, hardware and all the fabric stuff by myself. Still in my head is a wedding ring quilt in brown and green. Also pillows that are cutsie and maybe a basket with no top or bottom to cover the tv and stuff. Hopefully that will get done before I turn 40.

Stand up Sit down
This is my brand new phone. Her name is Tess. She is so beautiful. Last January I lost my first phone. I had a huge sense of loss. My loving father sent me a substitute. Jane (the phone) was great. She held up and I spent many minutes with her. When the option of the 2 year upgrade came upon me, I felt the need to see if Jane wouldn't mind sitting out. I felt that she had used up what she had in the first half of the game and it was time for a new linebacker. I went to the store in the mall wondering if there was anything that could compare with either of my team members. I searched and looked at every phone. There just wasn't one screaming out to me that they were ready to play. Until I saw Tess. She had a younger sister that was out for the season with a broken caller bone. (manufacture defects) I wondered would it ever be possible with the budget set out for new team members if Tess would be willing to sign a deal. Through many hours discussing this issue with Tess' agent we came to a deal. Tess got on the plane and was on the team in 1 - 2 business days. So far Tess is working well with others. She loves to get in the pocket. It is great to have her in the game.

Road Trip
While I was working yesturday (hemming 18 pairs of pants) Justin took the kids out for a stroll east of Flagstaff down the 40. Did you know that there is a town called Two Guns, Arizona? Well these are some of the things they saw on the side of the road. Sam was scared of the dinosaurs so there isn't a picture of him with them. Keaton on the other hand was a ham as usual.

The difference between...
For 4 months this is what I heard
"Mom, but I don't want a haircut. I want it long. (why) just cause. Noooooo don't cut my hair. What about just the curlies on the sides. No I like it over my ears. No." So on Saturday night I got brave enough to deal with the screaming and the wailing. He was so sad he even started to cry. Then I started cutting. The scissors weren't sharp enough so I left to get different ones. When I came back I met a smiling happy boy. He was so excited to watch me cut his hair. He didn't even get to itchy. Wow, what a difference. I sure do love my clean cut boy. I think he is just a little more silly when his hair is shorter. How fun.

Keaton age 8
Last weekend the family went down to the valley. Justin and I helped out at Nana's house painting and such. Keaton was excited to help until he realized how much work painting is. Sam came and helped when Keaton was finished and so did Nellie. What great children we have. When Keaton was done in the back he went to the front house and got out the alligator head. This is a 'stuffed' head of a tiny alligator (or croc, I can't tell the difference, it is like telling twins apart). Well what do you do with a really cool thing that Nana says to be careful with and to not hurt. Of course you draw it.
He even counted the teeth and made a word problem out of it:
39 teeth on top and bottom =78 teeth

Late Night
Justin got a new Ipod that plays movies. He put some of his pitctures on it for music videos. Keaton was so excited that he couldn't sleep. What a nice dad to indulge him and play music for hours. They are great together.
